While Los Angeles Lakers rookie Lonzo Ball gets his on-court career started this weekend at the NBA Las Vegas Summer League, he is also looking to build his brand off the court. Today, he and select members of his family are making an appearance in town to promote Big Baller Brand.
From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Ball, his father LaVar and younger brother LaMelo will be at Urban Necessities in The Boulevard Mall. They will be hosting a meet and greet and signing Big Baller Brand merchandise.
The apparel will be on sale through a special pop-up shop being set up at the store. The first 250 people in line also get a free play on Urban Necessities Heat Locker.
The Lakers made Ball the second overall pick of the 2017 NBA Draft. He starred for one season of college basketball in his hometown at UCLA.
Ball averaged 14.6 points, 7.6 assists and six rebounds a game for the Bruins. He was a consensus first-team All-American and a first-team All-Pac 12 selection.
Ball was also named the Pac-12 Freshman of the Year in a season where he helped UCLA reach the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament. He led the nation in assists and finished second on the Pac-12 single-season charts.
