LSU basketball coach Johnny Jones will be out in the local community next week promoting his program. On Tuesday, he will speak at the LSU Basketball Tip Off Luncheon. 

The event will be held at L'Auberge Hotel and Casino in Baton Rouge. The buffet costs $14.95 and opens at 11:30 a.m. while the speaking portion of the program starts at 12:10 p.m. 

Jones will talk about his team and answer questions from those in the audience. He will have former LSU All-American Rudy Macklin join him as a special guest speaker. 

Jones is in his fifth season at his alma mater, LSU. The Tigers have won at least 19 games each season and made the NCAA Tournament in 2015. 

Prior to arriving in Baton Rouge, Jones was the head coach at North Texas for 11 years. He recorded five 20-win seasons and won the Sun Belt Tournament championship twice with the Mean Green.

Jones got his first head coaching opportunity with Memphis after serving as an assistant at the school for two years. He began his coaching career immediately following his playing days at LSU.
