There is no question that Marcus Mariota is the most popular athlete in Hawaii these days. Mariota’s broad appeal has resulted in another company on the island inking him to an endorsement deal.
Just two months after he started a partnership with First Hawaiian Bank, the new Tennessee Titans quarterback has linked up with Island Insurance. Mariota will appear on www.IslandInsurance.com and be featured in TV ads come the fall.
He now has a growing endorsement portfolio that includes pacts with Nike, Beats by Dre headphones, and Subway. The Honolulu native carries the most cache however at home where he starred at Saint Louis High School and won the state’s Gatorade Player of the Year award in 2010.
Mariota has gone on to bigger and better since, resulting in being selected second overall in this past April’s NFL Draft. With the league’s highest-selling jersey in the month of May, his popularity upon entering the pros certainly has not waned.
The Oregon faithful will not soon forget his contributions either. While leading the Ducks to the inaugural College Football Playoff, Mariota won nearly every major college football award in 2014, including the Heisman Trophy.
He ended his college career with the Pac-12 record for total touchdowns and the Oregon school record for total offense. Mariota is hoping to make history again as he starts his Titans career this fall.
