Mark Cuban Named Keynote Speaker at 2016 Fantasy Sports Trade Association Convention

There is perhaps no one better to speak at a fantasy sports conference than someone whose business career has been the perfect intersection of technology and sports.  Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban certainly fits the description and he will be the keynote speaker at The Fantasy Sports Trade Association Conference in Dallas January 19-20.

Cuban’s address will be on Wednesday the 20th at 10:30 a.m. inside the main ballroom at the Omni Dallas Hotel.  The conference serves as the annual meeting destination for those that run fantasy sports operations.

The FSTA was originally founded in 1998 and has connected individuals all under the goal of advancing fantasy sports. Many of the conference’s attendees boast the same entrepreneurial background that led Cuban to much of his success.

In addition to owning the Mavs, Cuban also owns Landmark Theaters and Magnolia Pictures.  He is the chairman of the cable network AXS TV and popular to mainstream audiences for his role on the business reality show, Shark Tank.

Cuban’s career has long been associated with technology enterprises.  In 1998, he sold Broadcast.com to Yahoo for $5.7 billion worth of company stock.

Cuban is largely credited with turning around a previously moribund Mavericks franchise as well.  Since his purchase in 2000, the team has only missed the playoffs once and won the 2011 NBA Finals.
