Retired Miami Dolphins defensive end Jason Taylor terrorized offenses for years. He was always revered for his hard work and tremendous skill on the football field.
This week, Taylor imparted some of the lessons that made him great to an audience of high school athletes. He was the keynote speaker at the inaugural Best of TCPalm PrepZone Awards.
The banquet was held at the Sunrise Theatre in Fort Pierce, Florida. Taylor particularly urged the attendees to relish the moments they have on the playing field.
Taylor had a 15-year NFL career and spent 13 of those seasons with the Dolphins over three different stints. He ranks sixth in league history with 139.5 sacks.
Taylor was a six-time Pro Bowler and four-time All-Pro pick. In 2006, he arguably had his finest season on the way to NFL Defensive Player of the Year honors.
Following his retirement, Taylor was inducted into the Dolphins Honor Roll in 2012. He is eligible for selection to the Pro Football Hall of Fame for the first time next year.
