2018 has been a banner year so far for Charles Woodson. The former University of Michigan standout was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame and now he will return to his alma mater to speak at commencement.
The ceremony will be held on April 28 inside Woodson's old stomping grounds, Michigan Stadium. He still is an active member of the university community and his Charles Woodson Foundation funds several scholarships for UM students.
In 2017, Woodson was one of 20 recent alumni to receive a UM Bicentennial Alumni Award. He is sure to tell some stories about his time in Ann Arbor when he speaks to the Class of 2018.
Woodson played in 34 straight games for Michigan during his career. He helped lead the Wolverines to a national championship and won the Heisman Trophy in 1997.
The Oakland Raiders went on to select him with the fourth overall pick in the 1998 NFL Draft and he proceeded to win the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year award. He was a nine-time Pro Bowler and eight-time All-Pro.
While with the Green Bay Packers, Woodson was named the 2009 NFL Defensive Player of the Year and he won Super Bowl XLV a year later. He ranks sixth all-time with 65 interceptions and is tied for the all-time lead with 13 defensive touchdowns.
