Milwaukee Bucks Star Michael Carter-Williams Speaks at ABA Camp in Massachusetts

Last week, Michael Carter-Williams was able to go back to a place where he learned some of his most basic basketball lessons.  The Milwaukee Bucks star point guard spoke in front of 150 campers at the Academic-Basketball-Awareness Camp in North Andover, Massachusetts.

Carter-Williams spent seven years of his youth at the camp, honing the skills that would eventually help him reach the NBA.  The trip back to Merrimack College, the site of the camp now in its 35th year, was a blast from the past.

With his background at the ABA Camp established, Carter-Williams was able to speak from a point of experience about the values one could learn by being there.  He also participated in a lengthy Q&A session with the campers.

Carter-Williams is one of the league’s rising stars.  He was drafted 11th overall by the Philadelphia 76ers in 2013 and went on to win the NBA Rookie of the Year award.

This past season, Carter-Williams split his time between the Sixers and the Bucks.  He helped a surprising Milwaukee club down the stretch and averaged 12.2 points, 4.8 assists, and 4.5 rebounds in his first playoff series.
