Minnesota Twins pitcher Trevor May is in Spring Training camp fighting for a spot in the starting rotation. He also has a new deal as brand ambassador for an eSports team.
May is working with Luminosity Gaming. He goes under the username "iamtrevormay" and will be part of Luminosity's "Stream Team" on Twitch.tv.
Any potential winnings May gets from gaming will go to charity. He is an avid player of Overwatch who is hoping to grow eSports through this partnership.
Last year, May pitched in 44 games posting a 5.27 ERA and striking out 60 batters in 42.2 innings. He originally made his major league debut with the Twins in 2014 after being named to that summer's All-Star Futures Game.
The Philadelphia Phillies originally selected May in the fourth round of the 2008 MLB Draft. Baseball America named him the Phillies top prospect in 2011 and 2012.
May joined Minnesota via a 2012 trade. This season, he has a chance to enter the starting rotation for the first time.
