As goalie for the famed “Miracle on Ice” United States hockey team, Jim Craig left an entire generation with everlasting memories. He will share some of the lessons he learned while on Team USA at the International BoatBuilders’ Exhibition and Conference.
Craig is serving as keynote speaker for the conference’s Industry Breakfast on September 19th. The event will be held at the Tampa Waterside Marriott Hotel.
The breakfast marks the beginning of IBEX, which will be held across the street at the Tampa Convention Center. Craig will talk about how the teamwork principles he learned through hockey can be applied to business.
In the semifinals of the 1980 Olympic tournament, Craig stopped 36 of 39 shots and the U.S. went on to earn a landmark victory over the Soviet Union. Team USA would defeat Finland in the final to win the gold medal.
Craig also led Boston University to the NCAA Championship in 1978 and is a member of the BU Hall of Fame. The Atlanta Flames selected him in the 1977 NHL Entry Draft and he debuted with the team shortly after his tremendous Olympic run.
Craig also spent time with the Boston Bruins and Minnesota North Stars before retiring in 1984. Ever since, he has been a popular motivational speaker and consultant.
