"Miracle on Ice" goalie Jim Craig was in Pennsylvania this week to speak at a special Thanksgiving event. He was the keynote presenter at LifePath's annual Thanksgiving Benefit and Awards Luncheon.
The event was held at the Holiday Inn Confernece Center in Lehigh Valley. Life Path has been helping those with devleopmental dissabilities since 1974.
Craig shared fun stories from the 1980 U.S. Olympic hockey team. He also paralleled their tremendous accomplishments with the work done at LifePath.
Craig was in net for a team that made history by winning gold at the 1980 Olympics. He made 36 saves in the U.S.'s iconic 4-3 Olympic semifinal win over the Soviet Union.
Craig also had a career in the NHL after being drafted 77th overall by the Atlanta Flames in the 1977 NHL Draft. He made several appearances for the Flames, Boston Bruins and Minnesota North Stars from 1980-83.
After retiring from hockey, Craig became a motivational speaker and sales strategist. He is president of the marketing and promotions firm, Gold Medal Strategies.
