Monday Night Football Analyst Jon Gruden Speaks to Florida Gators Prior to Outback Bowl Appearance

Even though he has moved on to a broadcasting career on Monday Night Football, the coaching exploits of Jon Gruden have not been forgotten. He certainly commanded respect last week when he spoke to a Florida Gators team prepping for an appearance in the Outback Bowl.

Gruden made the visit on Wednesday as the team was wrapping up practice at Jesuit High School in Tampa. He talked to the team about how they need to finish what they started.

Many players who were recruited from around the state of Florida remembered Gruden's success with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They face Iowa at his old stomping grounds, Raymond James Stadium, today at 1 p.m.

The pinnacle of Gruden's coaching career came in his first season with the Bucs. He took the franchise over the top, winning Super Bowl XXXVII and becoming the youngest coach to lead a team to championship glory.

Gruden has a career coaching record of 100-85. He guided the Oakland Raiders to back-to-back AFC West division titles before leaving for Tampa Bay in 2002.

In addition to the Super Bowl season, Gruden also went to the playoffs two more times with the Buccaneers. After finishing 9-7 in his final campaign with the team in 2008, he joined ESPN as the lead analyst on Monday Night Football and has since become one of the network's most popular personalities.
