NASCAR great Dale Earnhardt Jr. is currently making the transition into retirement. That has freed his schedule to pursue several passions, including speaking to groups he feels he can impact.
This winter, Earnhardt will be the keynote speaker for the Mooresville-South Iredale Chamber of Commerce's Celebrate Business luncheon. The event takes place on January 23rd at The Cove Church.
Over 700 chamber members and other attendees are expected. Earnhardt is a native of Mooresville and a current resident so that made him an ideal choice as speaker.
Earnhardt finished his 18th season in NASCAR and has been named the circuit's most popular driver 15 years in a row. He racked up 26 Cup Series victories and 260 top ten finishes.
Earnhardt found a great deal of success at Daytona Motor Speedway and was the winner of the 2004 and 2014 Daytona 500. He first made waves in auto racing by winning the 1998 and 1999 NASCAR Busch Series Championship.
Earnhardt originally made his Cup Series debut in 1999. In addition to speaking with various groups, he is now signed on to serve as an analyst for NBC's NASCAR coverage.
