NASCAR Legend Mark Martin Keynotes Arkansas Sportscasters and Sportswriters Hall of Fame Ceremony

This past Saturday, the Arkansas Sportscasters and Sportswriters Hall of Fame had a special night of events to induct their tenth class.  It was highlighted by keynote speaker, NASCAR legend Mark Martin.

The induction ceremony was held at the Centennial Valley Events Center.  It began at 6 p.m. 

As an Arkansas native, Martin has been covered a great deal by the state's media over the years.  One of his racecars is also featured in the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame Museum. 

Most recently, Martin received the high honor of being named to the NASCAR Hall of Fame 2017 class.  During his career, he had 40 Sprint Cup Series wins and 49 victories in the Xfinity Series. 

Martin is known as the greatest driver to never win a NASCAR championship, having finished second in the standings five times.  He originally debuted in NASCAR in 1981, driving an impressive 882 races in the top series over a 31-year career.

Martin holds the International Race of Champions records for championships and wins.  In addition to the NASCAR Hall, he is also a member of the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America.
