NBA Hall of Famer David Robinson Speaks at the University of Charleston Nexus of Leadership Symposium

NBA Hall of Famer David Robinson exhibited class throughout his career. The example he set forth made him an ideal choice to speak at the University of Charleston Nexus of Leadership Symposium.

Robinson talked about how everyone has a voice, but few can actually garner credibility. He said there should be meaning behind people's words.

Robinson also addressed leadership both on and off the basketball court. He became familiar with the University of Charleston because his sister, Kimberly, is a professor at the UC School of Business and Leadership.

In 1987, Robinson was named the national college player of the year at the Naval Academy. He was selected with the first overall pick in the 1987 NBA Draft.

Robinson went on to star during his entire career for the San Antonio Spurs. He was a ten-time All-Star and a ten-time member of the All-NBA team.

Robinson was named NBA Defensive Player of the Year in 1992 and the NBA MVP in 1995. He won two championships with the Spurs and has his #50 jersey retired by the franchise.
