The National Sports Collectors Convention brings out over 100 legends and current stars each year to satisfy a rabid base of memorabilia fanatics.  One of those making an appearance at this week's event is Basketball Hall of Famer Julius Erving. 

The convention runs August 3-7 at the Atlantic City Convention Center in New Jersey.  Erving will appear this Saturday at 12 p.m. 

Regular items cost $150 for Erving to sign and fans can also get a photo opportunity for $150.  In addition to the athlete appearances, over 850 exhibitors will be on site with an array of collectible sports items. 

Erving split his career between the ABA and NBA.  Taking his totals from both leagues, he ranks sixth on the all-time scoring list with 30,026 points. 

Erving collected four Most Valuable Player awards and won three championships.  Between the ABA and NBA, he was a 16-time All-Star. 

One of Erving's largest marks left on the game is how he popularized the slam dunk.  His impact was also felt on multiple franchises and he has his jersey retired by both the Brooklyn Nets and Philadelphia 76ers.
