NCAA executive Oliver Luck is perhaps best known for his famous NFL quarterback son, Andrew, but he has tremendous accomplishments in the world of sports in his own right. Many are excited to hear some of his stories when he keynotes the PACnet community conference.
The symposium is being put on by Spectra Ticketing & Fan Engagement. It runs February 12-15 at the Newport Beach Marriott Hotel & Spa in California.
Luck will discuss his leadership tactics and the direction of the sports industry. His keynote will be streamed for all members of the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics.
In 2014, Luck became the executive vice president of regulatory affairs at the NCAA. Before joining the organization, he was director of athletics at his alma mater, West Virginia.
While at WVU, Luck oversaw the school's move from the Big East Conference to the Big 12 Conference. He also promoted Dana Holgorsen to head football coach, instituted beer sales at the football stadium and negotiated a new media rights deal.
Luck has held several high-level sports administrative positions, including serving as CEO of the Houston Sports Authority and league president of NFL Europe. He had a five-year NFL career at quarterback with the Houston Oilers.
