It has been a busy offseason for Denver Broncos running back Jamaal Charles. In the midst of changing teams and rehabbing an injury, he has also released the book, "The Middle School Rules of Jamaal Charles - Real Life, Real Lessons and Real Inspiration."
This afternoon, Charles will be in his hometown of Port Arthur, Texas for a book signing. He will be at the Museum of the Gulf Coast from 2-4 p.m.
Books will be available on site for sale. The book talks about the bullying and teasing Charles dealt with as a kid due to a long undiagnosed learning disability.
After being a first-team All-Big 12 selection at Texas, the Kansas City Chiefs selected Charles in the third round of the 2008 NFL Draft. He played nine seasons with the Chiefs and rushed for a franchise record 7,260 rushing yards.
Charles holds an NFL career record with a 5.5 yards per carry average. He has been named to four Pro Bowls and was a two-time first-team All-Pro.
In 2013, Charles led the league with 12 rushing touchdowns. After two injury-plagued seasons, he is hoping to bounce back to his All-Pro form with the Broncos.
