There are not many players on a baseball diamond that make people turn their heads as quickly as Washington Nationals star outfielder Bryce Harper does. Harper has companies turning their heads in his direction off the field as well.
Last week, he agreed to a new multiyear endorsement contract with New Era Cap Company. Harper will begin appearing in ads for the global lifestyle brand during spring training.
New Era's close affilation with Major League Baseball includes other individual endorsement deals with stars like the Pittsburgh Pirates' Andrew McCutchen, San Francisco Giants' Buster Posey, and Chicago Cubs Kyle Schwarber. Harper's deal runs through the 2018 season and adds to a portfolio that includes agreements with companies like Gatorade, Rawlings, and Under Armour.
There is certainly no better time than the present to buy in on the reigning National League Most Valuable Player. Harper hit .330 with a league leading 42 home runs and 99 RBI in 2015.
While he is just 23 years old, Harper has already made three All-Star teams in four big league seasons. From the start, he delivered, hitting 22 home runs as a rookie to take home NL Rookie of the Year honors in 2012.
Harper has long been talked about in baseball circles. He was a prodigy who left high school early to enroll at the College of Southern Nevada before ultimately being the first overall pick by the Nationals in the 2010 MLB Draft.
