New University of Florida head football coach Dan Mullen is going to spend part of the spring refamiliarizing himself with Gator Nation. He has agreed to make a series of speaking engagements across the state.
Mullen's tour will begin in Gainesville on February 7th. That National Signing Day talk will take place inside the indoor practice facility on campus at 5:30 p.m.
Mullen will also make stops in Jacksonville, Tampa and Orlando. Friends of the program, season ticket holders, members of the Alumni Association and Gator Boosters will be invited to attend.
Mullen became the new Florida coach in late November. He had previously served as the program's offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach under Urban Meyer from 2005-08.
Over a successful nine-year run at Mississippi State, Mullen became one of the most respected coaches in college football. He led the Bulldogs to three top-25 finishes and a 5-2 record in bowl games.
In 2014, Mullen led Mississippi State to the third ten-win season in school history and he was named SEC Coach of the Year. in addition to working with Meyer at Florida, he also was a member of his staffs at Bowling Green and Utah.
