New Pittsburgh Steelers Quarterback Josh Dobbs Keynotes Boys & Girls Club Event Thursday

New Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Josh Dobbs is returning to speak in the state where he found college football stardom. He is the keynote speaker on Thursday at the 17th Annual Champions Dinner for the Boys & Girls Club of Greenville & Greene County.

Each year, the event serves as a top fundraiser for this particular chapter of the Boys & Girls Club. it is being held at First Baptist Church and Forward Air & Laughlin Memorial Hospital is this year's sponsor. 

Activities begin with a reception at 6 p.m. followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m. Coaches Pat Summit, Butch Jones and Phil Fulmer are other speakers they have had in the past known for their exploits at the University of Tennessee. 

Dobbs played for Jones and the Vols for four seasons. He was the primary starting quarterback during his last two seasons on campus and led Tennessee to wins in the TaxSlayer Bowl and Music City Bowl. 

As a senior, Dobbs threw for 2,946 yards and 27 touchdowns while throwing only 12 interceptions. He was a two-time Southeastern Conference Player of the Week during his time in Knoxville. 

Dobbs was also a standout in the classroom at UT and received the school's highest undergraduate student honor, the 2017 Torchbearer Award. The Pittsburgh Steelers drafted him in the fourth round of this past May's NFL Draft.
