One of the new stars of the New York Giants is making a local appearance next month.  New York Giants defensive end Olivier Vernon is holding a public autograph signing in Garden City, New York. 

Vernon will be at the Steiner Sports Store in the Roosevelt Field Mall on October 18th.  Fans can preorder signed helmets and footballs from the signing. 

For those who wish to attend, individual autographs are $49.  To add an inscription, the cost is an extra #20. 

Vernon joined the Giants this offseason as a free agent and signed a deal that makes him the highest paid defensive end in the NFL.  Over the first four years of his career, he established himself as one of the dominant pass rushers with the Miami Dolphins. 

In 2013, Vernon collected a career-high 11.5 sacks.  The Dolphins originally selected him in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft. 

Vernon played three seasons at the University of Miami and collected 20.5 tackles for loss.  He is a Miami native who attended American High School.
