Pro Football Hall of Famer Steve Largent began his road to football stardom in Tulsa, Oklahoma. On July 8th, he will serve as keynote speaker for the Tulsa World's All-World Sports Awards.
The event is being held at the Southern Hills Marriott's Council Oak Ballroom from 5-9 p.m. Athletes of the Year awards in several sports and a handful of other honors will be handed out to student-athletes.
In addition to Largent's presentation, he will also answer questions from the audience. General admission tickets are $40 and VIP tickets are $100.
Largent grew up in Tulsa and then became an All-American at the University of Tulsa. He went on to a 14-year NFL career with the Seattle Seahawks.
Largent was a seven-time Pro Bowler and seven-time All-Pro. At the time of his retirement, he held NFL all-time records with 819 receptions, 13,089 receiving yards and 100 receiving touchdowns.
Largent is a member of the Seahawks Ring of Honor and has his #80 jersey retired. After retiring from football, he represented Oklahoma in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1994-2002.
