Though her internship with the Arizona Cardinals ended after the preseason, pioneer coach Jen Welter has stayed busy. Most recently, she was booked to be the keynote speaker at the 2016 Equal Pay Summit.
The summit is May 2-3 at Montana State University under the title "Women in Business". It will be held in the Strand Union Building.
Attendees can register but the event is free and open to the public. There will be plenty of panels, resources, and a tradeshow that features women-owned businesses.
Welter drew solid reviews for her stint as the first female coach in NFL history with the Cardinals this past preseason. Earlier in 2015, she became the first female coach in any professional football league with the Indoor Football League's Texas Revolution.
In 2014, she became the first woman to line up professionally at running back for the Revolution. Welter was named to ESPNW's 2015 list of the 25 most influential women in sports.
She also was honored at United Nations Women's Entrepreneurship Day as Sports Pioneer of the Year. Welter holds a master's degree in sport psychology and a Ph.D in psychology.
