NFL Player Turned Farmer Jason Brown Keynotes Peoria Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast Next Month

Former NFL player Jason Brown has a unique story to tell. Next month, he will talk about his journey as the keynote speaker at the Peoria Mayor's Prayer Breakfast.

The event will be held at 6:30 p.m. on September 21st at the Peoria Civic Center. Individual tickets are $35 and a table of ten is $350.

Brown will discuss what led him to leave football and take up farming. There will also be music, food and fellowship at the 43rd annual prayer breakfast.

Brown was a first-team All-Atlantic Coast Conference pick at the University of North Carolina in 2004. The Baltimore Ravens went on to select him in the fourth round of the 2005 NFL Draft.

Brown went on to have a seven-year NFL career and became the highest paid center in the league. He left football at the age of 29 to found First Fruits Farm.

The 1,000-acre farm donates much of their produce to local food pantries in North Carolina. Brown previously had no experience in the industry, but learned by watching YouTube videos.
