Many NFL players are extremely health conscious.  One such player is teaming up with a celebrity chef to create a business that sends out meals geared to those looking to eat better.

Punter Steve Weatherford and the bodybuilding champion chef Carlo Filippone are partnering on Elite Lifestyle Cuisine.  The meals will ship nationwide and be proportioned with a focus on proteins, carbohydrates, and grains. 

Fillipone’s idea started by making meals for his fitness clients and it eventually grew into the flash-freezing operation that exists today.  Weatherford took note and wanted to get involved, bringing his own ideas for how the tweak the recipes, according to New York Business Journal.

Weatherford is currently a free agent, but spent the last four seasons punting for the New York Giants.  With the Giants, he became a Super Bowl champion.

When he was with the New York Jets in 2010, Weatherford set a record with 42 punts inside the 20-yard line.  He started his career with the New Orleans Saints after being signed as a free agent out of the University of Illinois. 

It is perhaps no surprise that Elite Lifestyle Cuisine is a business opportunity that would interest Weatherford.  He is known for his insane workouts and being one of the most physically fit players in the NFL despite playing a non-contact position.
