This weekend, a group of men will receive encouragement and vital life tips from NFL rushing king Emmitt Smith. He is speaking at an event on Saturday for Better Man Ministries. 

The Better Man Event takes place from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at Calvary Church Orlando in Winter Park, Florida and all tickets are sold out. The organization has reached thousands of men over the last 14 years. 

Sports stars with a faith-based background have become a vital part of the Better Man Event proceedings. Former baseball slugger Darryl Strawberry addressed the crowd in 2016 and ex-Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow was the speaker last year. 

Smith has racked up a record of 18,355 rushing yards during his 15-year career. He was an eight-time Pro Bowler and four-time first-team All-Pro 

Smith led the league in rushing yards and rushing touchdowns four times each. He played the majority of his career with the Dallas Cowboys and won three Super Bowls with the franchise. 

Smith won the AP NFL MVP award in 1993 and went on to be named MVP of Super Bowl XXVIII. He is a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame and is a successful businessman in retirement.
