This April, Olympic champion Gabby Douglas will be on the University of Colorado Colorado Springs campus. She is taking part in the school's Significant Speaker series.
The event runs from 7-9 p.m. on April 25th at the Gallogly Events Center. Douglas will be joined on the panel by figure skater Rachael Flatt and a Paralympian.
They will discuss their Olympic journeys and tips for motivation with local television anchor Lauren Ferrara. Tickets, which cost $10 for the public and $2 for members of the UCCS community, are already on sale.
Douglas led the U.S. women's gymnastics team during the 2012 Olympics. She was the all-around gold medalist and also helped the "Fierce Five" win gold in the team competition.
This past summer, Douglas returned to the Olympic stage and again assisted Team USA's gold medal run. She also holds three medals from the World Championships.
In 2012, Douglas was named Associated Press Female Athlete of the Year. She has become a popular media personality with a Lifetime movie made about her life and a reality show starring her family that aired on Oxygen.
