Olympic Gold Medalist Scott Hamilton Keynotes SURVIVORville

Olympic gold medalist Scott Hamilton certainly inspired scored of people with his feats on the ice. He has also served as a point of encouragement to those dealing with cancer by sharing his own battle with the disease. 

Most recently, Hamilton served as a keynote speaker at SURVIVORville. The Women's Survivors Alliance has hosted this event for the last four years in Nashville, Tennessee. 

SURVIVORville allows female cancer patients and survivors to come together and find strength through common bonds. Hamilton was able to talk about the positive work he does through Scott Hamilton CARES.

From 1981-84, Hamilton won four straight U.S. championships and World Championships in figure skating. He went on to win a gold medal in men's singles at the 1984 Olympics. 

Hamilton originally made waves in the sport by qualifying for the 1980 Olympics. He was inducted into the United States Olympic Hall of Fame in 1990. 

Following his Olympic career, Hamilton became very popular on the touring skating circuit. He became known during these exhibitions for the backflips he pulled off on the ice.
