Marathon runner Meb Keflezighi has history ahead of him, but before he gets there, he will speak to the Class of 2016 at National University. He is the commencement speaker at the schoo's northern California graduation.
The ceremony will be held on May 1st at 1 p.m. at the Sacramento Convention Center. There will be over 500 graduates honored who attend school online and at five northern California locations.
There is no question that Keflezighi's message will resonate. Both his story of excellence and longevity are truly inspiring.
Keflezighi is the only runner to ever win the Boston Marathon, New York Marathon, and an Olympic medal. This summer, he will be the oldest U.S, Olympic runner ever to compete in the Olympics.
In 2014, Keflezighi was the oldest winner of the Boston Marathon in over 80 years. He has competed in four Olympic Games overall and won the silver medal in 2004.
Keflezighi first started racking up awards when he won four NCAA Championships at UCLA. He was inducted into the UCLA Athletics Hall of Fame in 2010.
