Ontario Hockey Summit Names Former NHL Player Sheldon Kennedy Final Keynote Speaker

Former NHL player Sheldon Kennedy is a powerful speaker advocating for victims of child abuse. He will share his story and more as the final keynote speaker announced for teh Ontario Hockey Summit. 

The summit takes place March 3-5 at Oshawa Civic Recreation Complex and Trent University. Tickets are currently on sale and early bird pricing is in effect until January 6th. 

There is reduced pricing available for groups and persons under the age of 18. Kennedy will be discussing the expansive role coaches play in molding young people off the field. 

Kennedy had an eight-year NHL career and played for three different franchises. He is best known however for his admission of being abused by his coach while in junior hockey. 

Kennedy's post-playing career has been devoted to helping others. In 1998, he roller bladed across Canada to raise awareness and money for sexual abuse victims. 

Kennedy is the co-founder of the training organization, Respect Group. He was named a Member of the Order of Canada in 2014 and has received many other awards for his work.
