United States women's national soccer coach Jill Ellis announced that she is stepping down following the team's victory tour, but she may already have a new career path in the works. Following Team USA's second World Cup victory under her watch, Ellis has been an in-demand name for speaking engagements.
Just last week, her first post-Cup keynote event was announced. Ellis will be speaking at the American Bankers Association Annual Convention in October.
She is set to discuss three cornerstones to leadership at the event that runs October 27-29 in Seattle. Ellis is joining other notable speakers at the convention, including former Speaker of the House Paul Ryan and Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Jon Meacham.
This should be the first of many events on the speaking tour over the next year for Ellis. She is currently the most-requested name affiliated with USA Soccer outside of Megan Rapinoe and Alex Morgan.
Ellis is seen as an authority on topics like leadership and teamwork, making her the perfect speaker for a variety of corporate events. Over five years, she has guided the national team to 102 victories.
Ellis is the first coach to win two Women's World Cup titles. She also successfully led the U.S. to a gold medal at the 2016 Olympics.
