PGA Pro Billy Mayfair Speaks at Ed Adler Memorial Golf Tournament Dinner

There is no denying the connection that PGA pro Billy Mayfair has with the Scottsdale, Arizona area.  Recently, the resident leant his time to a special event in town.

Mayfair spoke at the Ed Adler Memorial Golf Tournament dinner.  The whole day of activities was held by the Rotary Club of Scottsdale at McCormick Ranch Golf Club.

Proceeds from the tournament go to the club's foundation, which provides scholarships for local graduating high school students.  In addition to the tournament and dinner, there was also a silent auction and awards presentation.

Even at age 50, Mayfair still tees it up on the PGA Tour after originally turning pro in 1988.  He has won five events on tour, including the 1995 Tour Championship.

Mayfair has six top-ten finishes in major championships.  He has been reached as high as 26th in his career on the Official World Golf Rankings.

Mayfair is the only player to ever beat Tiger Woods in a PGA Tour playoff.  Before joining the tour, he was the 1987 U.S. Amateur champion and Haskins Award winner while playing at Arizona State.
