Pittsburgh Steelers Legend Rocky Bleier Keynotes Community Leadership Dinner Tuesday

Rocky Bleier is still an American sports icon years after his playing career. He will share lessons from life as the speaker for the Allohak Council of the Boy Scouts of America's Community Leadership Dinner.

Bleier's keynote takes place Tuesday night at Grand Pointe Conference and Reception Center in Vienna, Pennsylvania. There will be over 200 people in attendance for the local Boy Scouts chapter's biggest fundraiser of the year.

A silent auction will also help them try to reach their goal of raising $100,000. Bleier will talk about overcoming adversity and use anecdotes from his career to illustrate his message.

Bleier was set to begin a prosperous NFL career when he was drafted during his rookie season into the U.S. Army. He volunteered to serve in Vietnam but was injured and lost part of his leg while in the service.

Despite some experts saying that he would not play football again, Bleier returned to make an impact with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was able to win four Super Bowl championships 12-year career.

Bleier retired as the Steelers fourth all-time leading rusher with 3,865 yards. In addition to his presentations about tackling adversity, he also speaks to groups about financial management.
