Recently Retired Baseball Star David Ortiz Holds Book Signing Next Month in Massachusetts

On May 16th, Boston Red Sox icon David Ortiz's autobiography, "Papi: My Life," will be released. Two days later, the former slugger will be in Wellesley, Massachusetts for a book signing.

The event takes place from 6-8 p.m. at Wellesley Books. Ortiz co-wrote the book about his standout career with sportswriter and radio host, Michael Holley.

To gain entrance to the signing line, attendees have to purchase a book from the store after 9:00 a.m. on May 16th. There will be no outside memorabilia or candid photos during the appearance.

Ortiz spent 14 of his 20 major league seasons with the Red Sox and became one of the best players in franchise history. He is a ten-time All-Star who hit 541 home runs.

Ortiz holds career records as a designated hitter for home runs, RBI and hits. He helped Boston erase an 86-year drought with their World Series win in 2004 and went on to win two more championships with the club.

In 2004, Ortiz was MVP of the American League Championship Series and he was the 2013 World Series MVP. He set a Red Sox record and led baseball with 54 homers in 2006.
