Retired two-sport star Brian Jordan is going to lend his time to honor a special group of Boy Scouts. He is the keynote speaker at the 10th annual Eagle Club Recognition Breakfast. 

The event takes place on February 15th at 7:30 a.m. at Mississippi State University-Meridian's Kahlmus Auditorium. The Choctaw Area Council of the Boy Scouts expects to generate 75 to 80 percent of their operating funds with the breakfast. 

Nearly 500 people are expected to attend. Sports celebrities like Bobby Bowden, Will Clark and Dale Murphy have spoken at the event in recent years. 

While Jordan played in the St. Louis Cardinals minor league system, he spent three years as a defensive back for the Atlanta Falcons. In 1991, he led the team in tackles and was named an alternate for the Pro Bowl.

Jordan debuted in 1992 and spent his first seven seasons with the Cardinals. In his first season with the Atlanta Braves, he was named to the All-Star team and finished the year with 115 RBI and 100 runs scored.  

After a second stint with the Braves. Jordan retired in 2006. He has worked as a broadcaster for the franchise in a variety of roles since wrapping up his playing career.
