Rickie Fowler's Players Championship Win Could Equal More Endorsements

The biggest golf tournament of the season outside of the four majors was one by one of the sport’s rising stars on Sunday.  Rickie Fowler won The Players Championship in a playoff over Kevin Kisner and Sergio Garcia

Fowler finished 12-under-par for the weekend at the TPC Sawgrass and fired a 67 in the final round.  It took four playoff holes for him to vanquish Kisner and Garcia in the tournament.

With the victory, Fowler moves up to eighth in the World Golf Rankings.  He had a banner 2014, finishing in the top five for all four majors and carding ten top tens overall.

As a former number one amateur player in the world and the youngest member of the U.S. Ryder Cup team ever, Fowler has long been a golfing prodigy.  He also finished in the top ten in his first two PGA Tour events and won the Rookie of the Year award in 2010.

Fowler’s bold style and personality have made him a favorite among many golf fans.  He has had endorsement deals with Puma, Red Bull, and Crowne Plaza just to name a few.

There is no question that a win at The Players Championship could be just the thing that Fowler needs to get his golf game to the next level.  With the added attention, even more companies looking to align themselves in a sport always stocked with great endorsers will also look his way.
