Veteran NFL linebacker Chad Greenway is preparing for another season with the Minnesota Vikings, but he has an important speaking engagement following the year. He will be the featured speaker at the Rochester Area Sports Banquet on January 30th.
The event is held each year as a way to honor teams and athletes in the area. It is sponsored by the Rochester Amateur Sports Commission.
Ticket information and other event specifics are available through the RASC office. Finalists for the various awards handed out will be contacted in December.
Greenway is retiring following his 11th NFL season in 2016. He has played all of them in Minnesota, ranking fourth on the team's all-time list with 1,289 tackles.
From 2008-13, Greenway led the Vikings in tackles each season. He was named to the Pro Bowl in 2011 and 2012.
Minnesota originally selected Greenway in the first round of the 2006 NFL Draft. He was a first-team All-Big Ten pick at the University of Iowa.
