It has been a busy week for new Los Angeles Chargers offensive lineman Forrest Lamp. The first major news item of the week involving Lamp was his new endorsement deal with Lamps Plus.
Lamps Plus is the largest specialty lighting retailer in the U.S. They are using the uniqueness of the standout offensive lineman's name to form an unusual partnership.
As part of the deal, Lamps Plus will furnish Lamp's home in Los Angeles. This is their first deal of any kind with a professional athlete.
The Chargers selected Lamp in the second round on Friday night. He was lauded as one of the top offensive line prospects in the draft after a standout career at Western Kentucky.
Lamp started 51 games for the Hilltoppers and saw the school win two Conference USA titles. He was a two-time first-team All-CUSA pick and a third-team All-American last season.
During his final two seasons at WKU, Lamp did not allow a sack. He was a two-year team captain.
