Former Harlem Globetrotter Seth Franco has been named the keynote speaker at the 2015 14th Annual S.U.R.E. Student Summit. The event will take place on March 19 at the Rowan University Student Center from 8:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and has a theme this year of “Survival”. Over 350 Gloucester Country students are expected to attend the student summit and will learn about stress management, interviewing, being true to oneself, relationships, dating violence, and substance abuse and how to cope with them the right way.
In 2003 Franco became the first Caucasian Globetrotter since 1942 and currently travels the world inspiring people to have the courage to live their big dreams. When Franco was playing basketball in college he incurred a extremely bad hip injury that almost caused him to lose his life. He bounced back from that marvelously and went on to join the famous Globetrotter squad. His experience with his hip has made him an appropriate choice for this year’s S.U.R.E. event, as he will be able to tell the students first hand about how he survived his ordeal and managed to be successful after it.
All of the students attending this year’s student summit are going to have a chance to talk to Franco and experience different lessons and clinics throughout this informative, but fun filled day.
