As someone who grew up in North Dakota and is one of the state's favorite sports stars, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz knows a thing or two about the outdoors. The hunting apparel and supplies company, Sitka Gear, has capitalized off this background and signed Wentz to an endorsement deal.
This is the first partnership he has agreed to since joining the Eagles last year. Wentz officially announced the deal on his Instagram account.
There is already a page on the Sitka Gear website dubbed "Carson's Gear." To help unveil the new relationship, they also followed Wentz to New Zealand and did a photo shoot of his hunting.
North Dakota State won five FCS National Championships during Wentz's time on campus. He was the starting quarterback for two of those runs and was named Most Outstanding Player of the title game twice.
The Eagles selected Wentz with the second overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. He was a standout during his rookie year, completing over 62 percent of his passes while throwing for 3,782 yards and 16 touchdowns.
Wentz set an NFL rookie record with 379 completions. He was also the NFC Offensive Player of the Week in Week 3 and the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Month for September.
