With one New York Times bestseller already under her plate, soccer legend Abby Wambach's second book, "Wolfpack," is sure to be one of the most highly-anticipated releases of the spring. Celadon Books is releasing this follow-up to her autobiography, "Forward," on April 16.
Wambach got the idea to write again after coming to some new revelations about herself after her 2015 retirement. The book talks about self-empowerment and is centered on a set of seven rules specifically geared toward helping women find inner-power.
Wambach also speaks at length about what an important time it is for women everywhere. She also talked to People earlier this year about what she hopes readers get out of the book.
"Every woman has their inner wolf and my belief, my dream, and what I've become obsessed with is that every woman find and unleash their wolf so they can unite their pack," said Wambach.
Wambach is the all-time leader among women and men in international goals scored with 184. She was a six-time U.S. Soccer Athlete of the Year.
Wambach was on the U.S. national team from 2003-2015, competed in four World Cups and won two Olympic gold medals. The Americans came up short in the World Cup Final in 2011, but she won the tournament's Bronze Boot and Silver Ball.
In 2015, Team USA sent Wambach out on a high note with the first World Cup victory of her career. That year, she was named to the Time 100 list as one of the most influential people in the world.
