Soccer legend Abby Wambach has always been a champion for people and an inspiration for many. She will be talking about personal empowerment at an upcoming speaking engagement at Florida Atlantic University.
Wambach is headlining "Be the Change" at the Kaye Auditorium on Friday, April 5. She will be joined on stage by two other prominent speakers, Glennon Doyle and Brittany Packnett.
There will be stories shared and a conversation about how taking care of one's self can inspire positive social change. Tickets are currently available and those who register receive a copy of Wambach's book, "WOLFPACK."
During her iconic career, Wambach was the six-time U.S. Soccer Athlete of the Year. She is the national team's all-time leading scorer and her 184 international goals are more than any man or woman has ever put in net.
Wambach ended a decade-long drought for American women by winning the FIFA Player of the Year in 2012. That year, she captured one of two Olympic gold medals with Team USA.
Wambach also participated in four World Cups, winning in her final go-around in 2015. That year, she was named one of the most influential people in the world by Time.
