Missouri State University is welcoming one of the state's favorite baseball personalities this Saturday. St. Louis Cardinals broadcaster Al Hrabosky is speaking at the First Pitch and Reunion Night.
The tenth annual event takes place at 5 p.m. at the Bill Rowe Training Facility at Hammons Field. Individual tickets are available through the Missouri State Baseball office for $20.
A portion of the proceeds benefits the Abou Ben Adhem Shriners Travel Fund. In addition to Hrabosky's presentation, the 2018 Bears will also sign autographs and take pictures.
The Cardinals originally selected Hrabosky in the first round of the 1969 MLB Draft. He spent the first eight seasons of his playing career with the St. Louis and became one of baseball's best closers.
In 1975, Hrabosky led baseball with 22 saves. He became well known for his wild antics on the mound and was dubbed "The Mad Hungarian."
Hrabosky also pitched for the Kansas City Royals and Atlanta Braves. He has worked in a broadcasting role for the Cardinals since 1985.
