Standout Softball Player Danielle Lawrie Keynotes Snohomish County Sports Hall of Fame Induction

Standout softball player Danielle Lawrie built a legacy at the University of Washington. She was not far from campus on Wednesday, serving as the keynote speaker at the Snohomish County Sports Hall of Fame banquet.

The event was held at Edward D. Hansen Conference Center at Xfinity Arena. There were six individuals and one team inducted, including former Major League Baseball player Adam Eaton. 

They handed out several awards at the eighth annual event as well. Lawrie gave a rousing presentation that inspired many in attendance. 

Lawrie was a two-time national player of the year for the Huskies. As a junior, she helped UW win the College World Series and was named the Most Oustanding Player of the tournament. 

Lawrie ranks fourth in NCAA history in career strikeouts, sixth in innings and sixth in wins. She took a year off from her college career to represent Canada at the 2008 Olympics. 

Lawrie pitched four professional seasons in National Pro Fastpitch with the USSSA Pride, compiling a 23-9 record with a 2.59 ERA. She currently serves as a softball analyst for ESPN and the Pac-12 Network.
