FL Hockey is hosting their first coaching clinic with a big time guest as keynote speaker. Former Stanley Cup champion head coach Marc Crawford will speak at the event that runs Friday and Saturday.
THe camp will be held in Belleville, Ontario. It is officially sanctioned by Hockey Canada, meaning that coaches who sign up can receive three points towards their development.
Cost to attend is $125. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Floyd and Pauline Crawford benevolent fund that benefits Belleville Girls and Boys Minor Hockey.
Crawford has had an impressive coaching resume, directing four different NHL franchises during his career. In 1996, he piloted the Colorado Avalanche to their first and only Stanley Cup.
In each of his four seasons with the franchise, they made the playoffs. Overall, Crawford has taken teams to the postseason on eight occasions.
Currently, Crawford is serving as an associate coach with the Ottawa Senators. He also had a six-year NHL playing career, all spent with the Vancouver Canucks.
