Football is a copycat game and coaches at all levels are now going to be looking at the methods employed by Super Bowl champion head coach Doug Pederson. He will get to share his insights with a select group as the featured speaker at Alabama's annual spring coaches clinic.
The event coincides with the start of the Crimson Tide's spring practices and runs April 12-14. Activities are only open to current high school coaches.
Last year, Atlanta Falcons head coach Dan Quinn and Houston Texans head coach Bill O'Brien were the big name speakers. Joining Pederson this year will be Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy.
In his second year on the job, Pederson led the Eagles to a 13-3 regular season record and victory in Super Bowl LII. He managed a team that dealt with several season-ending injuries, including one to starting quarterback Carson Wentz.
With the victory, Pederson became just the fourth person to win a Super Bowl as a player and coach. He was a backup to Brett Favre for the Green Bay Packers team that was victorious in Super Bowl XXXI.
Pederson also served as a backup to Dan Marino with the Miami Dolphins and was a spot starter during his 13-year NFL career. Following his time as a player, he began his coaching tenure on the high school level before joining the Eagle staff in a quality control position in 2009.
