Super Bowl Champion Coach Tony Dungy Speaks at Black History Month Event in Florida

This morning, Super Bowl champion Tony Dungy keynoted a special event in Tallahassee, Florida. He spoke at a Black History Month event put on by the Florida Department of Children and Families.

The presentation was free and open to the public. It was held at 9:30 a.m. at the R.A. Gray Building auditorium.

In addition to Dungy's talk, the DCF honored several black leaders. He has been working with the organization for several years on a variety of initiatives.

Last year, Dungy was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Over a 13-year head coaching career in the NFL, he racked up an 85-27 record and missed the playoffs just twice.

From 1996-2001, Dungy took the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from league laughingstock to Super Bowl contenders. He then left for the Indianapolis Colts and led them to victory in Super Bowl XLI.

Dungy was the first African-American coach to win a Super Bowl. He retired from coaching in 2009 and has become a powerful speaker, author and analyst for NBC's "Football Night in America."
