The Vero Beach Prayer Breakfast has named a football icon keynote speaker. Super Bowl champion quarterback Joe Theismann will speak at the event on April 12th. 

Festivities will kick off at the Indian River County Fairgrounds at 7 a.m. A full catered breakfast from Chik-Fil-A will be served at the outside pavilion. 

Already over 1,000 tickets have been sold and a sell-out is expected. Individual tickets are $30 and they can be purchased online. 

After playing three seasons in the Canadian Football League, Theismann spent his entire 12-year career with the Washington Redskins. He led the franchise to back-to-back Super Bowl appearances and the Redskins were victorious in Super Bowl XVII. 

Theismann was a two-time Pro Bowler and first-team All-Pro in 1983. That season, he was also named NFL MVP and the NFL Offensive Player of the Year. 

Theismann is a member of the Washington Redskins Ring of Fame and the College Football Hall of Fame. After retiring following a devastating leg injury in 1985, he has had a lengthy career in broadcasting.
