Super Bowl Winning Quarterback Kurt Warner Leads Charity Coat Drive in St. Louis

Even though the Rams left St. Louis, one of the most prominent players in franchise history is still making an impact in the city.  Super Bowl champion quarterback Kurt Warner is working on his annual Warner's Warm-Up coat drive.

This is the 16th year that Warner has held the drive.  Each time, he collects around 15,000 coats.

The drive officially started Saturday outside the St. Louis Blues home game at Scottrade Center.  There are over 600 different spots where people can drops off their coats in the greater St. Louis metropolitan area.

Warner had a remarkable journey in pro football that crossed through NFL Europe and the Arena Football League.  He found a place with the Rams in 1998.  After an injury to starter Trent Green, he led the franchise on an improbable run that culminated with Super Bowl victory following the 1999 season.

That season, Warner threw for 4,353 yards and 41 touchdowns on the way to the first of two NFL Most Valuable Player trophies.  He made the first of four Pro Bowl trips and was Super Bowl XXXIV MVP.

Warner would lead the Rams to another Super Bowl following the 2001 season and also take the Arizona Cardinals there in 2008.  He is a member of the Cardinals Ring of Honor and a strong candidate for induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
