Tennis players are not often associated with ice cream. That is changing with top player Grigor Dimitrov who recently agreed to become a global ambassador for Haagen-Dazs.
Dimitrov is promoting the brand on his social media accounts. He also served up some ice cream to fans at Melbourne Park as part of a promotion during the Australian Open.
Haagen-Dazs already boasts partnerships in the sport with Wimbledon and the Australian Open. Dimitrov is through to the third round of the Australian Open after defeating Mackenzie McDonald on Wednesday.
Dimitrov is a career-high third in the ATP singles rankings after winning the ATP Finals in November. He has won eight ATP singles titles in his career and reached the semifinals of two Grand Slam events.
Dimitrov is the greatest Bulgarian male tennis player of all-time and he has represented his country at the 2012 and 2016 Olympics. He was named the Bulgarian Sportsperson of the Year in 2014 and 2017.
Dimitrov is also a former world number one junior. He won the grand slam boys' singles titles at Wimbledon and the U.S. Open in 2008.
